Scarlett We were descending the stairs when I became aware of the way Tina and Ash stiffened in front of me on the stairs. Looking up, I jerked back in surprise as I saw the number of men standing in the small hallway in which we had entered. Alex’s hold tightened around my waist, almost painful as he went still as a statue. I knew that we weren’t out of danger yet but with him by my side I wasn’t feeling as much afraid as I should.  “What do we have here?” The man standing in the middle with his hands in his pocket, said as he looked at our little group. Then his eyes moved past us to Julian who was standing just behind us. But then those dark eyes flicked back to me. Surprised and leery. “Ah… so you did bring her back.” He showed his teeth, and then the man started to walk toward me.
