Chapter 82: The Siege Begins The sound of claws on stone was the sound of our doom. It was a wet and scraping noise. It echoed from every side of the fortress. They were swarming up the vertical cliffs like spiders made of nightmare. Victor stood on the wall. He kicked a Bone Wolf in the face. The creature’s skull shattered. But it did not fall. The bone fragments floated in the air. They swirled around Victor’s head like a swarm of angry hornets. Then they snapped back together. The wolf bit Victor’s arm. Its teeth sank into his bicep. Victor didn't bleed red blood. He bled a thick black ichor. He roared and ripped his arm free. He grabbed the wolf by its spine and threw it off the wall. "Back!" Victor shouted to his men. "Fall back to the courtyard!" It was too late for some.
