Chapter 54: The Devil’s Bargain The bunker smelled of rust, dried blood, and despair. I sat on a crate in the center of the room, Lyra sleeping against my chest. Her breathing was the only steady thing in a world that had gone off its axis. Jax paced back and forth, his boots scraping against the concrete. "We have thirty wolves," he said, his voice tight.
