The first Alpha fell to his knees in the northern ranges. Not from pain. From recognition. He had been mid stride, issuing orders to his patrol, when the pull snapped tight inside his chest. His vision blurred. His wolf surged forward, not snarling, not fighting, but bowing. “Alpha,” one of his warriors called, alarmed. “What is it.” The Alpha pressed his fist into the snow, breath coming hard. His eyes glowed, not silver, but dark gold threaded with shadow. “We have been lied to,” he said hoarsely. Miles away, another Alpha dropped his blade during training.
