I was angry with Knuckles when he told me he visited my father after the boys were born and gave him a picture. At the time, I didn't feel my father deserved to know about his grandsons. He had made his choice to stay in prison for the rest of his life. But as Knuckles explained his decision to me, I calmed down. He was right. My father was trying to be realistic and not get his or my hopes up. If he could make it the five years awesome, but if for some reason the judge changed her mind or even something happened that she deemed as him not trying, it would be devastating.
