Uncle and niece smiled broadly at each other before taking a deep breath and blowing out the candles on their cake among cheers and claps.
It was summer - the sun shone high in the sky and cast a golden hue on the vines full of almost ripe grapes. Like every summer for the past three years, we had all gathered at my and Sean's estate to spend a week of holiday together. That week, however, was special: it was the birthday of our niece, Georgie, which fell on the same day as Sean's. Josie had her three years earlier, a few months after meeting her mate: needless to say, that kid had become the joy of the whole family.
