CHAPTER THIRTY
I sighed for the umpteenth time, sadness mixed with longing pitting against my stomach walls as I gazed at the empty chair beside me. Lucian was not in school today and neither was Alec and Chase. What hurt the most was that I could not be there for my boyfriend as much as I wanted to. It was a few minutes until the start of the class and I could not keep my focus straight.
“Hey,” Peggy patted the back of my hand softly, pulling me out of my haze.
“I-I can’t be there when he needs me,” I spoke in a small voice, turning to my right meeting Peggy’s sympathetic gaze.
“Hang in there. Lucian would not want you to sulk a whole day. I’m pretty sure if he learns about it, he’ll scold you for it,” she attempted.
