6. LET GO

1968 Words
“Do you think you're a lady now?" He kept questioning her. “Of course, I am—" And with that, he lowered his head and his lips met hers, and he let his feelings exposed for the second time. Whilst, even though it was surprising for her, she kissed him back passionately when she feels her feet being lifted on the floor and her back felt the soft fabric against her. Meaning, they are in the bed already and he is on top of her. “Oh, God, is this true? Is this really happening? I hope time stops,” she prayed inside of her mind. For the first time, the two became one that for her its a memorable moment because she gave her virginity to the man she loves. In the meantime, Yuta went upstairs and he noticed the pink bathrobe outside the door of his son. “Whose bathrobe is this?" he curiously asked himself. The morning came, and the sun rays in the window struck into Veni's face which woke her up, and she smiled reminiscing what happened to her and to the man she loves last night. It was like a dream come true for her but her thoughts were interrupted when the door opened and closed. Ryota got inside his room and their eyes met so, she immediately sat up on the bed covering herself with a blanket since she is still naked. “Good morning." She smiled at him sweetly. “Morning,” he coldly replied. He glanced at her again then, he turned his back to her to get his clothes, while she saddened because she didn't like the tone she just heard coming from him as if it was telling her that the night they spent with each other was just nothing and there is no meaning of it for him. He dressed up and when he was done, he faced her with his emotionless look and they stared at each other. “Aren't you getting up? Don't you have a class today and you're still lying there?" he asked coldly and harshly. She shook her head. "No, I don't have. But later I will go to school because it's our foundation day today and I might go home late tonight. How about you, you're going to work?" she told ignoring his remark. Then, he took a seat at his desk and wear his shoes. “I am. Isn't obvious?" he rudely answered without looking at her. As the conversation continues, she began to feel unwanted because of how he treated her after they spent a night together, and because she cannot take his rude behavior anymore, she opened her mouth to say what she truly feels about how he is mistreating her. “Why are you like that? Are you mad at me? Why does it seem like I was just the one that is happy here and not you? Did you regret what happened to us last night?" she straightforwardly asked. He, then, stood on his seat at his full height and he gazed at her coldly, giving her an emotionless reaction. “Look, I was not the one who came to you. It was you. You came to me. What do you think I will do seeing you all naked in front of me? Just stare at you? I'm a guy. And since you were in my front already, I took the opportunity,” he seriously told like he is fooling around with her. She frowned. "What? Are you telling me that you make love with m—" He cut her off. "Correction, it's not making love. For you, it was maybe. But for me, it wasn't. It was all just a f**k for me. And if you're fully awake now, can you leave my room? I'm gonna lock this before I leave to go to work. I don't want you to stay here,” he added with his stern look. She gasped at the things he said towards her making her feel angry and disappointed at him and at herself because it was the same thing that happened to them when he first kissed her so, she stood and brought with her the blanket when he threw to her the bathrobe she was wearing last night. She glared at him and put in a bathrobe, and she stomped her feet walking through the door. “Forget what happened between us,” he suddenly spoke. She stops on her feet after hearing him and then, she turned her head to him so that their eyes met and she scoffed. “What? Forget about it? Is that what you really wanted to happen?" “Yes. But I think maybe for you it was unforgettable since I was the first man you had slept with. But even so, I want you to—" He didn't finish his sentence because all of a sudden her palm landed on his right cheek which stops him from talking. The room filled with silence after it. “You know what, you're right. You were the first man I had slept with and you wanna know why I gave myself to you? It was because I am fvcking in love with you!" she burst. He tilted his head to meet her dagger look and by her looks, it was really obvious that she is fuming and in rage because of what he said. “I wouldn't give myself to you if I wasn't and you know that. I am not the type of girl who just stripped in front of so many guys and you know that. You don't like me? Fine! I'm not going to force myself on you again!" She pushed him in the chest, angrily. "You want me to forget about it? Okay! I will forget about it but just so you know, I was very happy last night because I THOUGHT your feelings towards me changed. But I was wrong. You just took advantage of me!" She pushed him again in the chest. While he didn't say anything and just let her hurt him and watched her cry in front of him for the first time. “I hate you." She sniffed as she sobs. "No. I do hate you. You're the worst guy I have ever known. Fvck you!" She pushed him for the last time and she runs out of his room, crying, and slammed her door when she got into her room while he closed his door too. For Veni, she didn't just lose her virginity but also her dignity to the guy she truly loves, however, it makes her realize something and that is not to love fully because it will break your heart in the most hurtful way possible. She hated to admit it but her love for him seemed endless because she can't stop thinking of him. But she has to forget about him because he already said to her loud and clear that for him it was just lust and there's no love between them. It's just a one-sided love and he never feels something romantic toward her. “It's time to let go,” she said in between her sobs. She knows that letting him go is the best way to forget about him but she's not sure when she's gonna hold onto it. All she knows is that she still loves him and she will always have a space in her heart for him. Thereafter, Ryota is bidding his goodbyes to the family because it's the day of his flight going back to New York and even if he didn't like to admit it, his eyes are looking for someone. And Kyoko knows already what's going on with her older brother. “Where is Veni?" Ojii-sama asked. “She's in her room and still sleeping,” Jen answered politely. “But it's already 3 in the afternoon and she's still sleeping?" Oba-sama questioned with doubt. “Let her be, Oba-sama,” Ryota butted in. They looked at him while Jen and Oba-sama threw each other a look as if they were talking with the use of their eyes only. “I have to go now. My flight is at 4. I need to go,” Ryota spoke. “Oh, yes. Yes, my grandson. Go ahead. Take care of yourself, my son. Your father is already outside waiting for you, right?" Ojii-sama told. Ryota nodded. "Yes, Ojii-sama. Dad will be the one to drive me off. Thank you very much to all of you. I had an amazing vacation in here." Ryota bowed his head respectfully to all of them and he walks going out of the house while Kyoko looked upstairs that she can see Veni sitting at the top of the staircase with an unhappy face. Because of sadness, Veni went inside her room and sat at her desk and she whimpered her heart out. And because the man she loves is really leaving her and she has nothing to do about it because he didn't feel the same thing about her and that makes her heartbreak into millions of pieces. Then, the door swung to opened and Kyoko approached her, she rubbed the back of Veni gently. “It's okay to cry. But do you know what is not okay? Not okay is that you just sit there and cry, and you've done nothing to stop him,” Kyoko softly told. She lifted her head and shook it while crying. "He doesn't love me back. I did everything I could think of already but still, he doesn't feel the same way. What could I do?" Kyoko squatted to meet her gaze. "He likes you, Veni. And that is what I can see in his eyes. Believe me." For that, she stops crying when she heard what Kyoko said. “Really? He likes me too?" she repeated. Kyoko smiled and nodded. "Yes, he is. Now, go and run after him. He will surely be happy if he sees you and he might consider not going to New York anymore." Veni smiled. "Thank you, Ate Kyoko. Thank you very much. I'm gonna run after him now." “Okay." Kyoko stood. "I hope you can still stop him." Without further ado, Veni runs fast as she could going out of the house. “Dad, I'm gonna borrow your car!" she shouted. And she slammed the door behind her while the other family members were in the living room and they were all confused about what was going on with Veni. Anyway, Ryota's flight has been announced so, he stood up with his luggage and for the last time he turned around to look for someone familiar but, nothing is visible in his eyes. And so, he resumed walking towards the gate, meanwhile, Veni parked the car on the side and she runs inside the airport to find the man she loves. “Ryota! Ryota! Ryota!" She keeps on calling his name and looking for him. Until she saw on the bulletin board that the airplane going to New York flew already and that means it was too late. Unfortunately, she sat on the floor and cried about letting go of the man she loves and not fighting for it. “Veni, is that you? What are you doing here?" A masculine voice called out. Veni wiped the tears in her eyes and she looked up to see a familiar face. “Richpaul?" she mentioned confusingly. He sat too on the floor beside her and smiled at her charmingly. "Yes, that's right. It's me. So, what are you doing here at the airport? Are you here because you knew that I was coming, ain't you?" To be continued...
