Even with the narrowing of the list, I still felt like the world was closing in on me. I felt like the monster under my bed I feared as a child was over my shoulder whispering its distance in my ear. But I learned long ago that the monster under my bed paled compared to the monsters outside my bedroom, which are the monsters on this list.
