We are sitting in the car in silence. Jaxon did not want to fly to where Ariel is so we have to spend three days driving and sleeping in hotels. I left the porch after Penny yelled at him. This is not my family drama so I will not be a part of it even though I started it. I sat in the car for about two and a half hours before he came out with a duffle bag. His parents and sister came after him but he just walked straight to the car, put the bag in the back and sat next to me. He did not look back at them but they just stared after him. I could feel their pain. I stood up from the car and walked back into the yard.
“I will keep him safe”
