Midnight Visitor

8. Arriving

We arrive around 6 in the morning and like he promised Alpha Amir was there waiting for us. We had been driving the whole night so to say that I am tired and hungry is an understatement.

“Alpha!” he says in a very slow and nice voice. 

I take his hand and we shake, his pack is smaller than mine and not as old but Melody recognises him as an equal however we are still a higher. Our Alpha blood goes way back and our pack is rather big. I am not saying I will hold it over him nor use it against anyone but I feel better knowing I am higher. 

“You have to excuse that my mate is not here, she was up all night with the baby. However my Beta is here and whatever you need just ask him” 

I shake the hand of the Beta too but I got a little knot in my stomach looking at him. His smell also filled my nose, it was very faint but I swear I could smell vanilla and pine trees on him. I look around but I see no pine trees.

“Alpha I would like to talk to you in private before I take a little nap if that is alright with you” I say in my emotionless business voice. 

His face goes a little more serious but he just smiles and gestures for me to follow him. We walk from the borderline all the way to his main house. 

“So I am guessing there was a little lie in your reason to be here?” 

We are standing in his office that is also a meeting room, it is me, Sebastian, Amir and his beta. I have already forgotten his name or he did not give it to me.

“No, I am here on business but it is not work business it is alpha business” 

He laughs a little and rubs his chin.

“My pack will not back you up in any fight if that is something that you have gotten yourself into Alpha Ariel” 

He did not say it in a bad way, just stating the fact that I know but my brother took that as an insult. 

“We do not need the help of a small pack in the middle of nowhere” he growl in a low tone. 

Amir just smiles and throws his hands up.

“I did not mean any offense” 

I stand up and I give my brother the look and he walks away and sits down on the other end of the table. 

“I am not here for war or any fighting on your account, I am just here to retrieve an kidnapped kid on your neighbourhood pack lands”

They both look very surprised but I just smile a little at them and when I say Amir's jaw dropped, I mean to the floor. 

“So you are planning to just trespass on their lands and steal back this kid and just leave? They will think we had something to do with it and attack us!” his beta says rather scared. 

I walk closer to him and again I breathe in a hint of vanilla and pine but I ignore it and look him dead in the eyes. 

“They will not attack you if me and my brother just kill all of them…” 

Silence. 

I see Sebastian smile in the corner of my eye but I can see the fear and horror in both Amir's face and his betas. 

“What pack has your little friend?” Amir asks. 

I look away from his Beta and look at him. 

“The Icewolf pack” 

“You can not kill all of them! They are ruthless!” His Beta almost yells at me. 

Before I could even answer him Amir did. 

“Yes they are but they are nothing compared to The Blood Howlers” 

The Betas eyes widen up even more and I can smell the sweat form on his skin and I have to say pride fills every single part of my body. 

“No that pack is nothing but just blood thirsty killers and r****t” 

Ouch, Rapists really? I have no r**e tolerance from my pack, have they been going behind my back? I will talk to them when I come home! 

“Well you are looking at their Alpha and her brother” Amir says rather embarrassed.

The Beta then just drops down to his knees and looks down, I have to say I feel sorry for him.

“I DID NOT MEAN ANY OFFENCE TO YOU! I AM SORRY PLEASE”

I just roll my eyes and then I just look at Amir. 

“We will just sneak in, grab the kid and then lead them away from your lands and pack” 

Amir nods his head, the smile gone from his face but I know he trusts me or respects me. I don't care either way. 

“I want to rest now a little bit until I go on a run around the area, where is our room?” 

Amir jumps up from his seat and starts walking out of the office. 

“Of course, I would have put you guys in the best rooms we have but considering that my son has been restless the last nights so I thought you would like to be as far away from the screaming baby” he jokes while taking us down the hallway. 

As he is opening the door a woman comes running down the hall in her pyjamas and hair all in disorder. 

“AMIR! AMIR! AMIR!” 

When I say his face lit up when he looked at her, I mean that it would help seamen come home on a foggy night. 

“Oh, Heather my love!” 

He puts both of his hands on either side of her face and pulls her lips onto his. They share a very passionate kiss while me and Sebastian just stand there. When they finally come up for air she smiles but then looks at us.

“Hi, I am Luna Heather, who are you?” 

I take her hand and shake it hard. 

“Alpha Ariel and my brother Sebastian” 

Her eyes widen up and realization washes over her face, she looks down at her clothes and fixes her zipper. 

“I am so sorry, I thought you would come tomorrow, I am so sorry I was not at the border to greet you” she looked down so ashamed. 

“Nothing to be sorry about Luna, I am not here on official business and I hear that you have a restless son that needs caring” 

She looks up at me and I can see how thankful she is for my understanding.

“Thank you! Yes it has been so rough the last few nights he just won’t sleep! I have tried everything” 

A memory of my mom flashes in my mind. 

“Try giving him a banana before bed, there is something in it that will help him sleep a more deep sleep” 

Amir looks shocked at me but again I see Sebastian smile in the corner of my eye. Mom used to give the twins bananas before bed because they would keep each other up all night. 

“Did that help with your child?” she asks, smiling. 

I try but I could see that I failed to keep my face the same, both of their smiles dropped and I just stand there. 

“My love, Ariel has not found her mate yet” Amir says. 

She starts to say that she is sorry but I just stop them both and I ask to be left alone so I could finally sleep a little laying fully down. When I am alone in the room, I just walk straight to the bed and I just drop down. I don't take off my shoes, I don't even lift up the covers, I just lay down on top of everything with everything on. I have no idea how many hours later I wake up but I wake up to this intoxicating smell. This strong smell of Vanilla and Pine trees. It is calling to me. I look around and the room is rather dark but since I am still wearing everything so I just jump out of the bed and I hastily walk to the door. The smell is also outside, I feel it pulling me. I jogged down the hall, through the kitchen and outside in the back. I am standing in the cool evening air but I don't care this smell has Melody jumping crazy inside me! I am so excited! I can not control myself when I am full on sprinting following this heavenly smell. I am running for a good ten minutes and it is leading me to the family housing. All the houses look almost the same but I know where the smell is coming from. It is coming from the house at the end. I keep sprinting until I am standing in front of the house. The house is light blue, it has white fence around it separating it from the others. There is a port-swing and there is light inside. 

MATE IS INSIDE! GO!
