Cassandra’s POV
“Lucien!” I voiced out breathlessly as relief washed over me.
Before I could stop myself, I quickly flung my arms around him, pulling him into a warm, tight hug.
I couldn’t believe Lucien was now finally back after disappearing since the rumors that spread around Crestwood about us.
“Wow,” he said, chuckling as he hugged me back. “I knew I was missed, but this? I never knew someone could miss me this badly. Should I take this as proof you’re secretly in love with me?”
“Shut up.” I sniffled, pulling back just enough to glare at him before smacking his chest lightly. “You don’t get to joke right now. Do you even know what you left me to deal with?”
