Chapter Eighteen... Getting Her Daddy Taken Care Of

1019 Words
*Jade POV* As they walked my parents out of the room, I rushed over to the one guard from earlier. "Listen, I'm taking my daddy somewhere safe to get checked. Can you please keep an eye on Bryson and Caine? Please don't let anything happen to them and keep George away from them as well. Make sure the rest of my family is taken care of, too. I gotta go. Thanks." He nodded in understanding and then I rushed out after my parents. We got into an SUV and headed toward one of the clinics. It was late, but they should be open. There was one that was open 24/7. I knew this because my family paid the employees there very well to stay open all the time. We never had to use the clinic before this because we had George at our home. So much for that. We pull in and the guards and my dad help move my daddy from the back. He is still groaning in pain when suddenly he screams out frantically, "Let me go. I'm going to lose my stomach." They release him quickly and he slumps over and vomits on the grass uncontrollably. The doctor and nurses come running out and notice my dad standing over my daddy trying to calm him. "Mr. Kingston, what can we do to help you?" The doctor said professionally. "My husband is not doing well. I need you to check him and hopefully tell me what is wrong." My dad continues to rub my Daddy's back until the nurses and doctor rush over to him and carefully place him in a wheelchair. "Anders, I'm tired of being prodded and picked at. Just take me home, please." My Daddy says pleading. "No, Jackson. You need to get checked out. God knows what George did to you. We need you to get better. Now stop arguing and let them take care of you." My dad snaps out at my daddy out of frustration and pain. My Daddy looked like he wanted to argue so I walked over and grabbed a tissue the nurse had in her hand. I wiped my Daddy's mouth gently and then looked up into his eyes. "Please, Daddy. Let them take care of you. I don't know what I would do if you were gone." I whispered roughly as tears welled in my eyes. He dropped his shoulders in defeat. "Alright, my little Gem. Since you asked nicely." He nodded at the doctor and nurses and they wheeled him away. I embraced my dad and mom tightly as we watched my daddy disappear inside. * * * * * * * * * Several hours had passed while we waited for my daddy. The sun was starting to come out and we were all exhausted. My dad has been on and off the phone since we got here. Our family is worried about my daddy. "That was Uncle Tommy. He said he is keeping an eye on the house and the rest of the family. My dad and mom are doing what they can to help too." My dad says calmly. I opened my mouth to ask my dad about Bryson and Caine, but he interrupted me. "They are worried about you, but they are doing fine." My dad says with a knowing smile. My cheeks blushed slightly and I smiled softly. "Thanks, Dad. I hope they understand why I couldn't wake them up to come along. I know they would be here for me if they could." My mom looks over at me and nudges my shoulder with hers. "They will be annoyed and probably a little hurt, but you just have to make them understand that your mind was on your daddy and that he was your main concern at the time. They know how much your family means to you, baby." I look at my mom and smile. "You're right mama. Thanks." She leans over and kisses my forehead. "Anytime, sweetie." The doors to the back open and one of the nurses comes out, "JACKSON BRANSON." We rush over to her and wait for some good news. "What did you find out about our husband? Is he doing alright?" My mom says first. "We did ma'am. He was poisoned very badly. Thankfully the doctor was able to trace it and get it sifted from his bloodstream. He is not in the clear yet, but once we get enough fluids in his system, then he should be alright. Give him a few more hours and you should be able to take him home. You made a good choice in bringing him in." My parents exchanged glances and then my dad gritted his teeth. The nurse may not realize it, but she just confirmed to my dad what he wanted to know all this time. She just sentenced George to death. George's life is done once my dad gets ahold of him. "Can we go see him? Please. I want to see my daddy." I asked hesitantly. She nodded her head and led us to the back. Once in the room, we saw my daddy lying in a bed with a bunch of IVs. He was currently asleep, but we walked over quietly. "Jackson? Are you okay?" My mom says roughly as she places her hand in his and squeezes firmly, "We're here my love, right by your side." My dad leans over and kisses his forehead. "Don't worry baby. I will take care of everything. I will make them all pay for hurting you." I grabbed his other hand and squeezed. "I'm here Daddy. Get better soon. We will be home in no time at all. Just rest." I kissed the back of his hand and then sat on one of the chairs by his bed. My dad sat in the other and my mom sat curled up in his lap weeping softly. My dad just rubbed her back up and down soothingly. Their time is coming Daddy. I can promise you that. No one hurts my family and gets away with it.
