I blinked my eyes open, but couldn’t make out anything around myself. Squeezing my eyes shut I tried again. But only darkness greeted me. With my hands I looked around for something to grab on to, but didn’t find anything, only that the floor was smooth and wooden. Crawling to my left, I searched for something, anything, but there seemed to be nothing.
My heartbeat started to escalate as I closed my eyes and remembered what had happened.
We had just walked out of the restaurant, I was crying and walking down the lane when Kiara had yelled for me to wait. “Brenna, would you just wait, I’ve called a cab.”
