“Where are we going?” Kiara asked as we settled in her car.
“A medical store.” I answered as I busied myself with the seatbelt, not wanting to look at her.
“A medical store? You still aren’t feeling well? Then we should probably get you home and tell Madd—”
“No!!” I gulped down the unnecessary fear that clawed at my insides. “There’s no need to tell Maddox.” I said more calmly, “I don’t want to worry him.”
“You are hiding something...” Kiara said, staring at me.
“I'll tell you but, can we please at least leave the school grounds.” I pleaded, looking out of the car. I had no desire for Maddox to catch me, he wouldn’t let me go anywhere and then I’d be left with unanswered question.
