Chapter 56

Lukas was still growling when he felt a cold chilling feeling passing all over him. He gasped at the sensation and then looked up only to find Luna standing over him. He again growled at him and she said,” You are not going to like to be blasted with psychic forces of a dead witch for a prolonged period of time, would you now Alpha?”

“What are you doing? And were you listening in to our conversation?” asked Lukas, as he looked at her with a scowl which was deepening every passing moment.

“It is very weird to be present everywhere and then not listening in to other people’s conversation Lukas. The rules of our world are pretty much different from yours and that means that I am going to do what I think is right and at this moment I think that you could have handled the situation much better than you did now,” said Luna and this was her no nonsense tone. Lukas could understand that because his mother would speak to him in the same tone when he was annoyed.

“Why would you even say that? Did you not see Rhea? How she was behaving? It seems that she treats me like her enemy now a days,” said Lukas as he sat down on the wicker chair which creaked at his weight and force.

“I would say that it is true that you behave like a moron Lukas. Rhea, is a teenager who has got two dual personalities active inside her just like you. You are the one who is five years older than her and yet you are still struggling with it yourself and you expect that she will be behaving absolutely normally? Do you have any idea what all things are going inside her body?” asked Luna, in a loud voice.

And Lukas felt like he was being scolded like a child. His situation was no different from a pup who was being scolded by the Alpha for being naughty.

“What are you saying Luna?” asked Lukas as he again looked at her realizing that it was he who was at fault and not his sister.

“Have you ever thought that it was necessary to share a piece of information with your sister that you have finally been able to harness the strength from your powers? Have you considered it necessary to tell her that there is a spirit who is living with you in your home? Did you even think that it was necessary at all to tell her these things? Make her privy to all these information so that she could understand that she was involved in your life?” asked Luna, in a heated tone and Alpha Lukas had no other option rather than to nod his head saying no and then look at the pieces of chicken and the bottle of ketch up on the foldable table kept before him on the porch.

“If you are not going to share any goddamned single detail about your life to her then how can you at all expect that she is supposed to talk to you about every single thing? And even though you are telling that her behavior was weird and awful it really seemed to me that she was the only one who was trying to make an effort when it should have been you Lukas.  You are her elder brother, you are supposed to show her the ropes and not the other way round,” said Luna and Lukas looked up at her with his face looking contrite.

“I am an absolute moron,” said Lukas, as he smacked his head.

“Thank the heavens for this realization to the least,” said Luna as she hovered and sat down on a chair before him.

“What should I do now?” asked Lukas, as he looked at her helplessly and his aunt scowled at him.

“How can you be so thick Lukas? How? I mean how on earth could you think that you could get away with this? And then you are again saying that you have no clue about what to do next either? Trust me, your mother might have been a murderous b***h but her intelligence was legendary amongst all the witches. She was the first one to consider the fact that science and magic could be brought together in order to create new age miracles and you are definitely, most definitely the worst specimen she could ever reproduce!!!” said Luna as Lukas scowled at her.

The Alpha in him could only take so much. But this was the only one person, not person, spirit rather, who was willing to help him get out of this soup so he could not allow his wolf to antagonize her in his own stupidity.

“You do know that I am stupid, and I agree that I have been increasingly stupid for the last few days but that does not mean that I am going to continue doing that later on as well. I am trying to rectify the mistakes that I have already made and learn from them. But you do have to tell me that how I am supposed to win my sister back. All these problems had never ever happened before, how am I supposed to know every thing?” asked Lukas as Luna looked at him and then after a brief moment of time she nodded her head at him.

“Alright, I get it. Both of you are experiencing these changes for the first time in your lives and my sister had got this time itself to go and become the slave of the Devil once more. So I am going to tell you only one thing Lukas. This is not something which can be taught by others or given lessons in. This is also one kind of magic but unfortunately in this kind of magic you have to understand that everything comes from inside. Love is the most powerful weapon of all Lukas, and no power is going to be able to change that fact. And this time you have to learn to make amends through love. All by yourself. You are caring and possessive of Rhea but it is high time that you become understanding as well Lukas since she is going to be taking the reins of this pack and increase its powers to unforeseen places,” said Luna as Lukas gaped at her.

“How are you supposed to know all these things? Are you not dead? I mean a thing of the past?” asked Lukas and Luna again scowled at him.

“Don’t be daft Lukas. I am a witch, in life or in death. So that means I have access to places and things and knowledge which you cannot even begin to dream about,” said Luna and Lukas nodded again at her although he did not understand very much. But this he was aware of that he was not going to be the Alpha for a long period of time, and rhea was the one who was supposed to do things and make changes which would take the Druids and the Pack to heights which they could not even imagine. And for that purpose itself he needed to be more careful of his approach towards her. Now as he came to know that Charlie, his own Beta was going to be the mate, rather was the mate to his sister then he was a bit assured about the protection of Rhea. Charlie was even more paranoid about protection than him.

Lukas was lost in thought when he found that Nina was coming towards his home along with baby Aurora in his lap. The child was smiling and cooing happily in the wolf mother’s arms. Lukas immediately rushed towards her and smiled at both of them. What could possibly be the reason for them to be coming here, he could not understand but he intended to find out and that was something he did pretty well.

“What a surprise Nina!!! You could have just asked someone to call me and I would have went to visit you. You need not have taken the pains of coming down here, did you?” asked Lukas as he took Aurora in his arms who looked up at him and then giggled. She was bigger, slightly from the last time that he had seen her.

“No Alpha, I was thinking that I needed some fresh air. And Aurora as well. After all being cooped up in the house is not at all good for her and I am feeling restless as well. Yes, the moon is one of the reasons for that I know, but I have this feeling that I have not shifted in some time which is the reason my wolf  is making me even more restless. I could have asked one of the elders or the Healer to look after Aurora for a couple of hours as I go for a run but I had this feeling that she would be best with you. If you don’t have any problem, then I could leave her with you until I come back from the run,” said Nina as Lukas was playing with Aurora who was happy in his lap.

“Absolutely Nina…is that something that you should even ask? If I am free then you know that you are welcome to always leave her here. I am going to be glad of some help to you. And after all you should have some time to yourself as well,” said Lukas as He smiled at baby Aurora who was looking at Luna with a fixed expression and Lukas could understand that she could see Luna as well.

“Yeah, I try to but it is increasingly difficult to take out some time for yourself with a small baby and all the work in the household!!!’ sighed Nina softly as she looked at the woods.

“Actually I was thinking that it would be better Nina if you start something on your own and leave Aurora in the care of the Healer for a few hours. I had this brief memory that you said you wanted to start a bakery on your own, did you not?” asked Lukas as Nina’s eyes brightened at his words and then she smiled at him sadly.

“I wished to because Cadence had such a sweet tooth and he loved that extra calories. But now, baking only reminds me of him. And Alpha it is too painful for me to handle,” said Nina as she started undressing and then turned towards the woods when she had finished.

“We can talk about it when you come back from the run,” said Lukas, as Nina disappeared amongst the trees in her wolf form.

“You have got yourself a siren here, do you know that?” asked Luna as Aurora still looked at her corporeal form.

“Yeah, I got that part long back since I brought her from the steps of this dilapidated church in the vicinity of the human habitation. At first we thought that she was a human baby but then I started seeing the signs that she started exhibiting. And I did not know that she would be able to see you,’ said Lukas as Aurora pointed her rattle at Luna and then looked at Lukas and then made mewling noises.

“Yes sweetheart, I know that she is there. No need to worry, she is not going to harm you,” said Lukas as Aurora snuggled up in his arms and then promptly fell asleep.

“I might not be able to harm her Lukas, but you need to be careful of this one. She has already placed her Claiming mark on your body,” said Luna as Lukas looked up at her in confusion. He could not understand what she was saying.
