"Hi." I said, holding out my hand like I would to a dog.
The wolf in front of me pressed his face into my hand, like a playful puppy. I started to scratch him behind the ears and he howled enthusiastically.
I laughed and continued to pet him. Suddenly he nudged my nose and then my shoulder. I almost lost my balance and sat down. He lay down next to me and put his head in my lap. Lost in thought, I ran my hands through his soft fur.
"You are a really beautiful wolf." I said, receiving an approving growl in response.
"Are you still Joshua?" I asked the wolf.
He shook his head as I continued to run my hands through his fur.
"Do you have a name of your own?"
