Precious was completely crushed and devastated. She felt like she had been punched really hard on her tummy and could not breathe. She went back home and wept until Lola could not stand seeing her so heartbroken. “Do you love him that much?” Lola asked. She thought she was protecting her daughter from pain, but it was the exact opposite. “I know that his parents hurt you, Mom. Cain is…” Lola choked on her tears. “Is?” Lola asked. “He always puts me first. Now he thinks he might have inherited some backstabbing gene from his parents and does not want me near him because he might hurt me,” Precious said with a hoarse voice. Lola’s heart sank, the conversation she had with her husband the night before coming back to her. She left her daughter without saying a word and rushed out.
