I knocked on Liana’s window, snapping her out of whatever she was thinking.
She unlocked the door, and I watched as she got out of the car. Her eyes were bloodshot red, and fresh tears fell from her eyes as she kept her hand on the locket. Her necklace was broken, but she didn’t say a word for a while as she stood looking like a ghost.
“Liana, did someone hurt you?” I asked, and she shook her head.
“I couldn’t drive. My hands won’t stop shaking, I couldn’t hold onto the wheel.” She said, and I nodded, cupping her cheeks, knowing not to press on her. I took my jacket off and put it over her shoulders, and she closed her eyes as she tried to stop her tears from falling.
