I called my mother as soon as I landed. I already told her last night that I will be meeting her today. I need her to know that I am already aware of what she did to me and Toni three years ago.
“To my parents’ house,” I told the driver as I texted Toni that I have landed safely. I don’t know if she’ll reply to me. But anyway, as long as I’m done with my business with my mother, I’ll book the earliest flight back.
“Take me back to the airport once I’m done here,” I told the driver who just nodded and waited for me outside.
Lynette, the helper who has been with us for years, greeted me. “Fierce! What a surprise to see you here!” she beamed and I walked to her to give her a hug. I am also happy to see her. She’s been my second mother.
