The sound of the fire alarm and the smell of smoke made me jump up in surprise. Something was really wrong. I jumped out of bed and Damien quickly woke up.
"What the hell is going on?" He asked half dazed.
Something's burning I spoke up as I started to walk towards the door. Damien quickly jumped out of bed and opened the door for me. How he made it to the door before I, reminded me of his alpha abilities.
We made our way down the stairs. With each step, my heart thumped in my chest. The smoke was coming from the kitchen. When Damien opened the door to the kitchen a laugh burst out of my mouth. The kids were all covered in flour from head to toe. There was a burning hand towel on the stove and cake batter all over the countertop.
