The drive to the Emery residence was silent. He didn't glance my way, nothing. I sigh. We pull up to the Emery residence. I get out of the car, he gets the bottle of wine from the back of the car, while I walk up the steps and I ring the door bell. Ryan opens the door.
"Hey guys, come in" Ryan gestures for us to step inside the house. "What has you so stuck up again?" I hear Ryan ask Connor behind me.
"Hey" Jessica gushes as she gives me a hug. We greet and we follow them out to the back through the patio. There is a table set up for all of us. The light from the outside of the patio is shining directly towards the table.
