The familiar jingle of keys fills the quiet morning air as I unlock the painted green door to Bookends. It is the next day and I am back into my routine. "Home," I whisper, a small smile playing on my lips. My fingertips glide across the spines of novels as I make my way to the front counter, each one a dear friend waiting to whisk me away on an adventure. After taking a moment to appreciate the comforting surroundings, I move behind the counter to review the schedule for the day. A brightly colored calendar hangs on the wall, filled with upcoming events at the bookshop. I note that this evening we will be hosting the monthly meeting of our romance book club.
