Donovan pulls me into his arms and I gently shake my head. I don't want to believe what just happened. I look at Jonathan's unconscious body as the medical help is arriving.
His skin is soaked in blood. I see burns almost all over his body. I must have hit him over thirty times with the silver crop. And judging by earlier wounds, I guess Grandpa Jaxon did his part too.
His wounds and previous stitches are now open and are oozing blood out. The sight is not pleasant but Nora is somehow satisfied. I thought being in love made her soft, but I see she is still the same.
