Astrid
“No, it can't be,” I said as I watched him take his eyes off us, redirecting them back to his bride, who was standing close to him, clothed in a white dress, as she spread her lips apart and pressed them into his.
“Come Astrid, we have to leave now!” Merabeth said as she pulled me by the hands. I kept looking backwards to see if he would look again in my direction, but he didn't.
My world collapsed before me. I had given hope to myself, capable of being loved, chosen and cherished. Now the hope had become a piercing pain, destroying the world I had built. I dropped to my knees halfway as the tears kept rolling uncontrollably. My heartbeat grew heavy like they were about to burst, I could hear them clearly.
Merabeth seized me by the waist as she assisted me in walking out of the courtyard, down the alley to a secluded corner where no eyes were prying.
My whole body was tense. I folded in Merabeth's arms as I sobbed profusely to the point I had started gasping for air, she tried her best to calm me down, but to no avail.
“What was this?” I thought to myself.
Just a night ago, he was telling me how badly he wants me. How his body ached for mine, until the point he could no longer attain control over Fenrir. Now, on the lips of another woman.
“Were they all lies?” I kept questioning myself.
Merabeth took me home and laid me on the bed cushioning me to sleep as I did so without restraints. I was already weak from crying, and my whole body ached and longed for rest.
It wasn't long before I woke up, or maybe I thought it wasn't. The day had turned to night, and I slid out the doors out into the woods to the Riverside as I caught a familiar smell. It was his as he appeared before me.
I tried resisting it, but I could not. I needed answers. What will become of me, was the thought that filled my head. I was still bonded to him and could not resist him completely.
“You lied to me,” I said to him.
“No, my love, I did not,” He replied. “I meant every word I said that night. I truly do want you.”
“Then why did you marry her?” I retorted.
“Only as a pact between her Clan and mine,” He replied. “There's a war coming. The Vampires are beginning to attack, and Yormsborg alone cannot face them.” He said.
“I don't love her. Once this war is done, I'll make you the true Luna and no one will oppose me. I am Alpha after all.”
A part of me understood where he was coming from. What contribution could I offer to him? He was Alpha after all. But was I ready to be his mistress until it all fades? This was my main concern.
He unwrapped the clothes I used to cover my face as he widened his eyes and dropped his jaws.
“Freya! You are beautiful,” he exclaimed.
I had only seen myself a few times, only as a reflection when bathing but not to my full disclosure.
“What is your name?” I asked.
“Astrid,” I answered.
“It means Divinely Beautiful,” he said. “A name of the Gods.”
I let out a few blush as I forgot what had earlier happened.
“Astrid, I want you, and I want you now,” he said.
Without allowing for a reply, he pulled me close and kissed me deep on my lips. My eyes widened at first before they sunk into him. He wrapped me up in his arms as I grabbed him tightly, letting my all into him.
Next, I knew his fingers were deep in my v****a as I groaned at the pleasure it produced, moaning deep into his mouth as he wouldn't let any escape. My thighs tightened against his fingers as he brought me down to the floor, pushing his fingers deep into my core.
Tingles of electricity went flying up and down my body, as I lost control and succumbed to an intense o****m. But I still wasn't satisfied as I pulled off his shirt and unbuckled his belt.
He grabbed my hand as he led them down his pants, making me feel his huge and hardened d**k. I jerked towards it as I spread my legs, allowing him to settle it directly on my V.
He kissed me passionately while caressing my left breast. Then suddenly he withdrew.
“No,” he said.
“No, what?” I replied
“Not yet,” he replied.
“It's too soon.”
“Too soon? You said you wanted me now,” I snapped, as frustration had begun setting on me. Pulling back after making me groan in so much pleasure and dissatisfaction.
“I know my love, and I'm equally vexed. Fenrir is more upset. But it has to be when the moon turns red,” he replied.
“Why the red moon?” I asked. He gave no reply as he quickly shifted back into Fenrir and sprinted away before my eyes could blink.
I was left displeased, perturbed and unsatisfied. My core roared in so much annoyance it was like I was about to have serious headaches.
I picked myself up reluctantly and proceeded to walk back to the house. Halfway there, my eyes caught a dreadful scene. Someone was lying down covered with blood.
My heart dropped as my pulse heated up, breaking sweat out from my body. I rushed towards the person as she was still coughing up blood. The blood had covered her face, and I could not recognise the face.
“Freya! Who did this to you?” I said. She had multiple stab marks on her heart region. Someone had attempted to kill her or succeeded. She came to a halt as I placed my hands on the spot where she had been stabbed in an attempt to stop the bleeding but it was all too late.
I hurriedly left the scene as I rushed back home, scared of what had occurred, to see if I could get anyone to come to my aid.
On getting there, there were royal guards all over the place. Some were already in wolf form, it got me terrified.
“There she is, the murderer,” Lyra, the Housekeeper yelled as she pointed in my direction.
“The what?” I replied. The blood on my hands and clothes gave me out. A wolf growled so hard at me as another sprinted forth and knocked me to the ground.
“Don't kill her, yet,” one of the guards yelled.
“We need to know what she has done to the Queen.”
I finally understood.
