The mystery woman’s words keep repeating in my head as I stare out the car window at the city streets going by. The prince had a mate who disappeared. Other men in Dalton’s circle had mates who disappeared. She was worried the same thing had happened to me. I’m surprised that she even knew who I was, but the other questions raised are a lot more concerning.
What happened to these women? Where did they disappear to and why? What did Dalton want me for? What will happen if he catches up with us? In all the time I spent there, I never particularly feared for my life, but now I wonder if I was naïve. There must be something far bigger behind Dalton’s treatment of me than I realized.
