I keep my mouth shut as the prince’s men take me and Bree up to Henrik’s office. The prince isn’t there. I assume he’s busy dealing with the attacks on the castle, both the cyber one and the physical one that’s taking place. After slapping handcuffs on me and Bree to tie us to our chairs, the security personnel hand the keys to Aspen and leave to deal with the next situation that needs their attention while Aspen takes up a position across from us, barely blinking as he watches to make sure we don’t try to get away.
Escape isn’t what’s on my mind though, not right now. I need to be here when the demon comes, which should be very shortly. I just need to maintain the facade a little longer, and I need to keep Bree safe. I wish that she’d gotten away with Carter, but she was
