Carter’s reaction to the news of my ‘death’ sends a rush of guilt through me, but outwardly, I do my best to project only disdain. I hope that Bree will be able to tell him the truth very soon. I saw the watch on his wrist, the one very much like the one I’m currently wearing, the one all the members of the king’s security team have, and I know some of the capabilities it has. Henrik’s men may have taken his phone away, but at least they left the watch, so as long as Bree and Carter are given a chance to talk, he can get them some privacy and she should be able to fill him in.
I can almost imagine how much it’s been driving Carter crazy not to be able to touch base with Quinn. I know he wasn’t exaggerating his anger about that or about being kept prisoner here at all. Now
