Callie's POV...
I gasped as I felt my body being pushed back onto the bench. I pulled away with my hands on my lap and I looked at my mate beside me; he looked concerned, nervous and... afraid? Did he think I was going to leave him? His gaze was too intense and I looked at my hands, I felt as my hair dropped from its hold, as a barrier between me and Xander.
Xander didn't say anything which only made me more nervous, what was I supposed to say? I heard as he got up, probably ready to leave and give me some space. "Don't," I softly whispered and looked up at him. He sat down once again in silence. After a while, strong arms wrapped around me securely and a concerned voice reached me, "Callie, are you alright?"
I looked up and looked at Xander, "yeah I'm fine, it's just a bit
