Chapter 3 Callie's POV... "Will she be alright?" whispered someone who sounded familiar. "I don't know, her wolf's not there, she isn't healing her," said a young female voice. A door was opened. "How is she?" Someone sighed, "The same." No one spoke and the silence was filled with monitors beeping. I tried blinking but failed. "Did you see that?" asked the third voice. "What?" asked the second. "She moved!" said the first one. Gaining all the energy I had, I opened my eyes. "Callie!" yelled Davis before taking me in a tight hug. "Davis calm down, she just woke up," reminded my brother and Davis let go of me with an apologetic look. I gave him a faint smile before turning to my brother, "how long have I been sleeping?" "About a week," said Scott and I gasped. "It's alright Cal," whispered Davis rubbing my back soothingly. "Callie, would you happen to know why your wolf isn't healing you?" asked the doctor capturing my attention and I shook my head. "What happened the day you went into the woods with James?" asked Davis out of nowhere. James? With me in the woods? What happened? "What are you talking about? When was that?" I asked confused. Davis looked at me skeptically, "yeah, about a week ago. It was the day before you fainted. When you didn't return, I went to find you and you were on the ground, you looked... confused and cold. What happened?" "What does that have to do with anything?" asked Scott sharply, his arms were crossed as he examined Davis. Davis only shrugged, "I don't know, maybe something happened that could be related to this." Scott growled, "James would've told me, he had nothing to do with this Davis Henry." Davis nodded and stepped back silently. I gulped and looked at my best friend. "I don-don't know, I don't remember anything from that day," I said confused. The doctor thought about it, "interesting, your wolf took that memory from you before leaving." My eyes widened, "leaving?" My eyes felt heavy then. I looked at Dr. Danielle and she was injecting me with something. "Callie, we don't know where your wolf is," explained the doctor. I rested my head on the pillows and nodded as darkness consumed me. .......................................................................................................................................................................... I was standing in the middle of a field, the sun was shining and it felt warm. Startled, I looked around. "Don't fret young one," said a melodic voice that instantly soothed me. I turned but I still couldn't see anyone. "Who are you?" I yelled confused and a beautiful thin woman stepped out of the rose bushes. She had long, wavy brown hair that reached her hips and her eyes were silver and filled with warmth. She was wearing a white loose gown and I instantly recognized her. The Moon Goddess, Luna. I bowed my head. "There's no need for that child," she said taking my chin and raising my head so I was looking at her. Her eyes searched my face and she smiled. "I've been watching you Callie and I've seen you suffer without anyone noticing," I looked at the floor knowing what she was talking about and she continued, "Your parents barely see you because they're always on business trips and don't have time for you. You were filled with pain when your friend, Ana, was killed by rouges and one of them being her mate that she rejected. After that you feared it would happen to you. I'm sorry Callie I really thought James was the best choice for you." I winced as the memories from when he rejected me came crashing back. How could I forget something like that? "Don't worry young one, there's a future ahead of you that shines bright." Confused I looked at her, "what do you mean?" She only smiled and I could see she was fading, "you'll see. Be strong Callie." Then she was gone. I was alone. I sighed and got up deciding to see where this field ended. After a long walk I still couldn't reach the end but I spotted a figure lying deep in the field. Curious, I walked towards it and gasped when I saw my wolf. She was torn, deep gashes covered her white fur and her limbs looked out of place, broken. I reached out to touch her and when my hand connected with her fur she opened her eyes. Her once bright blue colored eyes had lost their glow. She might as well be dead. "Why won't you heal us?" I asked sitting beside her. She looked at me before shaking her head and continued to rest on the ground, ignoring my presence. I exhaled and got up knowing it was useless trying to argue with her, she was stubborn. If she wasn't going to heal me, us, then I guess I would have to do it the human way. I groaned as I thought about how slow humans healed. Before I could even take another step, the field, my wolf and everything else faded and I opened my eyes. I was back in the real world.
