"Ha–" I let out a puff of cold air from between my lips as I tried to warm up. Even though winter was almost over, replaced by the fresh breeze of spring, the cold air still lingered, searching for hosts to shelter beneath their thick layers of clothing. This time, I stood alone outside Evernight’s Inn, leaning my back against the wall while scanning the street.
