As I settled into the caravan carriage, exhaustion weighed heavily on my eyelids. The rhythmic rocking of the carriage combined with the gentle murmur of fellow travelers lulled me into a drowsy state. I drifted in and out of consciousness, visions of distant lands and forgotten faces dancing in the edges of my mind. A sudden touch on my shoulder jolted me awake.
