It took forever to get the components for the machine. Getting the necessary hardware is getting more and more troublesome with the current weather situations. Max had to put up better security measures for the shop after someone broke in wanting to steal their stock to sell it for food.
Most of the inland is deserted, and they have to build more plants to filtrate the ocean water and turn it into clean drinking water, which means more toxic gasses in the air and more damage to the ozone layer. Which means worsened global warming and bigger weather changes.
