The chief tells Max how many of his kind have come for the weapon, but none of them were worthy. He tells Max how they got the weapon and that they don’t know much about it, but all he knew was that they had to keep it out of the hands of people from the outside.
They didn’t keep it to protect themselves. They kept it to protect people from themselves. Max has an incredible discussion with the chief while keeping his people hidden. After the chief has told him everything and he has spent some time with them, they agree to keep the weapon there so Max can execute his plan.
Max can’t wait to tell Magenta about everything he saw and learned about the people of Atlantis. He can’t wait to see her face when he brings her here to meet the chief and spend some time going through their artifacts
