A Little Getaway

Jasper drove fast down the dirt path as he and Alaia sat in the front seat holding hands. He was glad it was Friday, his dad had thought he could use some time away. So he had told Jasper to call in from work, no tutoring sessions, and take his friends to their cabin. Nothing fancy, but it was right on the lake. The two-hour drive felt like nothing with AJ and Stella in the backseat asleep and Alaia acting as DJ and entertainment. Laughing as she told him another childhood story of trying to mimic her older brother and having to get herself down from a tree, Jasper cooed as she pouted, “Aw I’m not laughing at you baby, just how adorable you probably looked. Sitting up in a tree pouting because they wouldn’t get you down. I would have instantly.” Alaia blushed and AJ groaned as he opened an eye, “Please tell me we are almost there. Any more of this flirting and I’m going to stab myself in the ears.”  Alaia was blushing even more as Jasper laughed, “Oh hush up AJ, we’re pulling in now.” Stella yawned and stretched as she sat up and blinked as she glanced around. “God it’s so beautiful out here. I always forget.” It was indeed beautiful. The entire woods was covered in a light dusting of snow, there was a frosty sheen of ice on every limb and log insight. As Jasper drove slowly down the winding road, they soon stopped in front of the four-bedroom Cabin, William and his best friend shared. It had always been the “summer house” for him and his parents when he was a kid. They’d come up here and hide from the world for an entire summer. And in those days of just those three, Jasper had been at his happiness. Smiling as he climbed out of the truck, Jasper looked around embracing how calm and quiet it all seemed. How frozen and perfect everything was. AJ slapped a hand on Jasper’s shoulder and Jasper helped him unload their bags and the food. Opening the cabin doors for the first time they were hit with even colder air. The cabin had laid untouched for the past two years, and it showed. Jasper thought to kick himself for not thinking of coming up here in cleaning. But neither Alaia or Stella were snobby and immediately got to work. In minutes there were blazing fires in the rooms to heat up the house, Alaia had the kitchen cleaned, and the guys stomped around checking for any nests. Smiling, as she started on dinner, Alaia laughed as Stella told her, “I’m dead ass, yo I saw that freaking bat and I was out!” Alaia liked Stella, not only was she funny but sweet as hell. After asking Alaia what her favorite animal ways (bats), Stella had of course been mortified and recalled her traumatic experience with a bat. “It came after me because I was too cute that day,” Stella lamented seriously, “It wanted me to look a fool as I tried to run.” Alaia nodded at Stella agreeing, “I’m sure that’s what her intentions were. She had to be jealous.” Stella pointed a carrot at Alaia, “I knew I liked you.” Alaia grinned and then looked out back at Jasper and AJ doing something on the deck. Jasper was laughing as AJ did a dance as he told Jasper something very animatedly. Stella peeked at Alaia staring as Jasper laughed and knowingly said, “He really likes you too.” Alaia looked at Stella and admitted shyly, “I like him back.” Stella grinned but it slowly faded as she looked at Jasper, “He’s a good guy. He’s sweet and funny, and the way he takes care of his dad, it’s amazing.” Thinking of last year, Stella frowned deeply troubled by it, “He didn’t deserve what happened to him and I know it’s bugging him. But because of you, he’s happy.” Both looked up as Jasper caught them looking and smiled before waving. Alaia waved back and Stella giggled as Jasper blushed before ducking off farther on the side of the house. “Was he like this with other girls?” Stella grinned a little as she told her new friend, “Jasper is…adorkable. He’s this hot guy you’d think you’d get all this confidence and swagger from but really he’s about as innocent as a baby.” Alaia tried to keep the smirk off her face because she wouldn’t go that far. Because while Jasper had been a gentleman when it came down to her he still looked, even accidental. He looked at her body and it pleased him, which in turn pleased her in some ways. Because in so many words, Alaia found Jasper Wynter hot as hell. “And this Paige character?” Stella frowned at just the thought of Paige, “I never liked her. I smelt trouble the moment that b***h put her grubby hands on him.” Alaia looked at Stella with a c**k eyebrow at the aggression, “Okay then.” Stella winced realizing how bitchy that came off, “Sorry. Just the mention of her makes my blood boil.” Alaia watched Stella finish dicing the carrots before dumping them in a bowl of olive oil and tossing them. “She was awful to him.” Stella rehashed as she turned on the gas stove. As the carrots fried and the roast cooked in the oven. “She acted like he wasn’t good enough for her, when in reality, she was the shitty one. And everyone knew it, and so she’d lash out at him.” Stella jumped when the carrots popped a little before saying, “She had a difficult home life from my understanding. Complicated mom, no show dad, a parade of men coming or whatever, and I felt for her situation. But Jasper is a one in a million-type guy. Any girl lucky enough to meet him should know-.” Alaia smirked, “To not have been dumb enough to let him go.” Smirking at Stella Alaia teased, “Too late all mines now.” Stella chuckled as she shook her head, “And it shows all over your face.” Alaia blushed but didn’t seem to mind it as she started to set the table. Stella smiled as she wagged her finger at Alaia warmly, “Which is why I like you; you compliment him well.” Alaia grinned and whispered, “Can I ask…is his mom…?” Stella shook her head and softly whispered, “Still alive, touchy subject. You’d have to ask him.”  Accepting that, both switched to other subjects and then dinner was done, and they called the boys in. As they drank beer with their food and talked animatedly, Jasper suddenly propositioned her, “Hey we heated up the hot tub and got the jets working.” Alaia beamed at the idea but then remembered something, “Sounds perfect…but I don’t have a swimsuit.” Stella looked at Alaia with a wink, “We’re about the same size, I have a spare.” Alaia looked at her gratefully and so they all finished eating before they went and got dressed in swim ware. Grabbing her coat and putting her slides on, Alaia went outside and found everyone outside. AJ and Jasper were already in the shiny monster sized hot tub with like a thousand settings. Stella was by the grill with a blender and made frothy drinks with some kind of green mixer. Alaia hadn’t been affected by alcohol in a while, so she took the glass with confidence she could remain sober. Taking a sip of the jolly rancher sour apple vodka concoction was a sweet surprise for her. Alaia sat her glass down long enough to pull her jacket off and kick off her shoes. And then she climbed into the hot tub with Jasper’s help and sunk deep into the hot water. Sighing, Alaia looked over at Jasper as he sipped his drink fully relaxed. “Okay so Alaia,” Stella said eagerly, “I’m curious, where have you all lived?” Alaia hummed, “Mexico, Italy, Greece, and Brazil. All of the west coast of the U.S and now here.” AJ laughed, his dark chocolate skin glistening as he asked, “How many languages do you speak? I heard three.” Alaia shook her head, “No I speak ten languages fluently,” Head snapping up surprised, Jasper looked at Alaia, but she shrugged casually, “Expensive education, no real friends, paired with boredom, you just start taking up shit.” Chuckling Stella looked at Jasper checking Alaia out in her borrowed little black bikini before asking her, “Any boyfriends from where you just left?” Alaia blushed shyly knowing Stella was planting seeds, “Ugh no, no boyfriend.” Jasper looked at Alaia take a swig of her drink and looked at Stella annoyed who just smirked at him amused. “Girlfriend?” Stella teased and it was Jasper nudging her that saved Alaia from answering. AJ sighed and asked suddenly, “So what’s the mission for tomorrow?” Alaia helpfully supplied, “Sleep in, do some kind of snow-related sport, and then hot chocolate and dinner paired with some movies?” Stella pointed at Alaia happily, “This is why I like you!” Alaia laughed eagerly, “I like you too.” As the two hugged, Jasper was a little sulky. He wanted to be liked too, but he felt like he was blowing it with Alaia. As she and Stella talked he sipped his drink in sorrow thinking about his conversation with AJ. “Dude she lied to her parents to come up here with you for the weekend. Why would you think she not like you?” AJ asked as they fiddled with the Hot tub that hadn’t been used in a minute. “Because I’m coming up here to get over being jumped and played by my psycho druggie ex. I’m not sure that screams, got s**t together and not got crazy girls jumping out the bushes.” AJ had stopped his tinkering to look at Jasper amused, “I’d love to see how’d you react to some crazy girl jumping out the bushes trying to stab Alaia. It’d be something to see.” Jasper shook his head and desperately groaned, “I feel like I’m blowing it with her AJ!” AJ sighed as he went back to trying to fix the hot tub, “Well then talk to her man. You can guess and assume your ass off, but she seems to really like you from what I can see.” Jasper groaned and AJ suddenly froze and looked at him confused, “Wait so what are we doing about sleeping arrangements then?” Jasper still had no clue. Because while AJ and Stella were a couple who had gotten to that stage of being able to sleep together, of course they wanted to bunk together. In the four-bedroom cottage, one of the rooms had been turned into a makeshift office. And the other was empty, a room that had always needed to be done but no one ever got around to it. Jasper licked his lips and wondered if Alaia would mind bunking with him. If she’d mind being in bed with him. “Hey Jas,” Jasper head snapped up seeing the three of them looking at him concerned, “Where’d you go?” Alaia asked him giggling a little and Jasper shook his head smiling, “Nowhere. Mind if I crank it up?” They all agreed and as steam rose up in the air and it got dark, the automatic lights came on. The white paper lanterns covering them making the back patio light up beautifully. As they started on another pitcher of the sour apple vodka blend, they started to drift off and got out the hot tub. Boneless and tired, they rushed inside, showered and changed for bed. As Alaia went downstairs and sliced the huge chocolate chip cookie she made and scooped on some ice cream. Sitting at the island, Alaia was enjoying her dessert when Jasper came in. “Hey, Alaia?” Alaia’s eyes snapped up to his, “Yeah?” Jasper nervously licked his lips as his grey eyes took in Alaia in her night robe. “Um, I was wondering. Did you want the room to yourself, and I sleep down here on the couch?” Alaia looked at Jasper shyly, “I don’t mind If you want to sleep in the bed with me.” Jasper looked at her closely as if making sure and she nodded a little making him smile. Jasper took a bite of her cookie/ice cream concoction and then said, “Well I’m going to go get some more firewood for the night.” Alaia nodded and watched him go through the kitchen, laundry room, and then the backdoor to do so. And the moment he was gone she tore through the house and into the bedroom her stuff was in. Under her robe, she’d worn a simple black nightgown and had dubbed it fine. If she’d been rooming with Stella. But since she was rooming with Jasper, she grabbed the cute matching burgundy set. It was a cute velvet material, a camisole for the shirt, the edges around her waist and breast black lace. And then there was the bottoms, a pair of high waisted shorts that flashed the cheeks of her ass. Alaia took her hair out of its bun and walked into the bedroom just as Jasper was walking in with wood in his hands. He stopped dead seeing Alaia, flushed, and then hurried to the small fireplace. As he threw one on to the low fire, it roared higher eating the fresh wood. Alaia sat on the bed nervously as he refused to look at her and instead made a show of plugging his phone in on the other side of the bed. Alaia turned and peered up at him until he finally looked at her. Jasper nervously licked his lips as he finally sat on the bed. On the edge, not touching her.  “Um…I’ll try not to hog the covers…or touch you.” Alaia smiled a little before shyly asking, “Can we cuddle?” Jasper looked at Alaia and nodded softly making her smile even wider. After killing the light, the fire basked the room in a warm muted glow. Jasper crawled under the covers and then Alaia was in his arms. She laid her head on his shoulder and he gently stroked his hands through her hair, “Where do your parents think you are?” Alaia grinned as she admitted bashfully, “With my brother and sister in law looking at their new digs closer to the college.” Jasper looked at her surprised, “He’s okay lying, knowing you’re with me?” Alaia shrugged as she drowsily admitted, “Loren gets it.” Jasper met her beautiful green eyes and Alaia admitted softly, “My dad holds us close for reasons. And we love him for it, but it’s a lot sometimes.” Jasper smiled a little, “Well I’m glad you could be here. I really like spending time with you.” Alaia grinned and admitted, “I like spending time with you too.” Neither of them said another word, just laid there on the pillows looking at each other. Alaia watched Jasper slowly sit up over her and as he stroked her cheek, Alaia put a hand on his face. His skin was warm under her hand, and when he leaned down and kissed her, Alaia’s lips accepted his naturally. Jasper was shocked as the warm tingle spread throughout his body. He was unable to think for a moment as he touched her gently, his hands sliding through her soft hair. Over the nice velvet shirt, and down her chest, and then Jasper touched the sliver of skin exposed between her shirt and shorts. Watching Alaia shiver under him, Jasper swallowed hard as his heart raced in fear and uncertainty as her eyes came up to his. Kissing Alaia as his body reacted and tensed with need, her soft hands smoothed the knots out of him until he was beside her again. Wrapped in each other’s arms, lips kiss swollen and bodies humming with pleasure, both fell asleep with the other on their mind.
