Daniel sobbed as he held the dead Amelia in his arms. He tried to give her his blood, but she couldn’t accept it and she’d died seconds later, and he wanted to die then too. Never feeling devastation like this, not even when his late wife Bonnie died, Daniel heard the gun fall. And footsteps running away.
And while he wanted to run after and kill Derek for what he’s done, he also knew he couldn’t leave her on the streets alone. Daniel held Amelia close as he started to stand, her limp body light in his arms.
But before he could, Amelia’s heart was suddenly beating, and he gasped as she jerked around in his arms confused. Calling Prescott, his head runner, he had them in a SUV and going back to his place as Amelia panted confused. Holding her chest, Amelia whispered, “What the hell?”
