William laid dead on the floor. His blood staining the floor as Arden sobbed into his chest. His son wasn’t too far from him, his neck broken from Wraith’s powerful squeeze. Alaia was holding him as she cried her heart out, in that moment, she’d never wanted death more.
Wraith stood over them like a conqueror feeling proud of his feat. He thought it’d be more difficult but was amazed he hadn’t even needed to pull his ace from his sleeve.
Flicking the blood from his sword, Wraith started to state his demands, starting with Arden agreeing to mate someone of his choosing. Ending with Alaia mating his son. And if any protest arose, he’d kill them.
But the door opened before he could speak, and a presence that had even the hairs on his neck standing came into the room. Walking in slow, a man dressed in all black moved with the stealth of their kind.
He was older, and from his aura alone, every vampire could feel he was powerful. Alaia looked at him afraid as he observed the room and then his grey eyes landed on William and Jasper.
Removing his hat, the old man casually said, “I thought I’d be too late.” Walking to William, the old man kneeled down and cut his palm. Placing it at William’s mouth, everyone watched he feed William his blood.
And then, William’s heart began to beat again.
Arden watched wide eyed as William laid completely still for a moment. And then he jerked up thrashing and crying out as his stomach began to heal itself. Laying back on the ground in pain, William was confused as Arden hugged him gratefully. He passed out again as his body began to turn, and no one could say a word.
As the old man stood again and began to approach Jasper, Wraith knew he was going to somehow bring him back too. Unsheathing his sword, he held it at the man’s throat threatening him to take another step, “Who the hell are you?”
Meeting his eyes, the man smiled like a kind grandfather. Only to painfully rip Wraith’s liver from his body like it was nothing. Wraith hit the ground instantly and began to holler as his liver began to slowly regrow.
As it did, the old man slit his palm again, and kneeled down in front of Alaia holding Jasper. Shaking as she held him close, Alaia was unsure on giving Jasper to him. But the stranger stroked down her hair gently and a calming aura surrounded her.
Alaia looked down at Jasper dead and cried as she slowly presented him to the older man. With Jasper’s with his head on her lap, Alaia watched the stranger feed him his blood.
And in a matter of seconds, Jasper was jerked up and a painful crunch signaled his neck healing. Jasper groaned and cried while Alaia held him as she cried thankful he was just breathing.
When both William and Jasper quieted again, it wasn’t until they were moved to recover somewhere else that the question was asked again. As Wraith slowly healed, he looked at the old man quaking with anger.
“W-who the f**k are you old man?” c*****g an eyebrow, the man laughed lightly, “My apologies,” he said himself as he cleaned blood from his hands, “I did not introduce myself. I guess my main priority was my family.”
Wraith was confused, but then the grey eyes looking into his clicked. He watched the old smile proudly, his fangs glistening as he formally introduced himself, “Daniel Wynter. William’s father and Jasper’s grandfather.”
Looking down at Wraith, Daniel asked, “Maybe you’ve heard of my father, Sir Theodore Wynter.” Wraith paled and Daniel nodded, “I thought you might have.” Josette looked at Daniel covered in blood as she hissed, “That’s impossible.”
Daniel smile was mocking, “Sure it is. But I do believe you all have outstayed your welcome here. I’m going to have to ask you all to leave.” Renaldo looked at the old man as hissed, “Or you’ll do what you old prick? I bet I can take you-.” And in a movement no one saw, Renaldo was having to heal his mouth because Daniel Wynter had ripped out his tongue.
Renaldo couldn’t breathe as he had to lay there in his own blood. His tongue having to painfully regrow itself as Daniel threw his now useless tongue on his chest. Wiping his hands again as if he was scared of the germs the younger man possessed, Daniel faced Josette patiently.
Livid as she tried to find a weak spot on the man in front of her, Josette paled as Daniel suddenly came closer and leaned down. “Trust me young lady, I have nothing but time to torture your family for what you’ve done here tonight. But I think I’ll just give an old friend a call, I’m sure he can get you all in line.”
Josette was now afraid and watched Daniel wave a shaking Rayne over. Peering down at the lovely little lady kindly, Daniel sweetly said, “You look like a nice young woman. Would you mind helping your mother get your brother and father to the car for me?”
Rayne quickly shook her head and Daniel patted her head gently. “Thank you deary.” And then he pulled out a lollipop, “Here,” Rayne took the lollipop like it was a detonator and then proceeded to help her mom drag her father and brother out of the house.
As they both passed out to recover from their healing, Eric helped his brother to his feet who’s chest was still a little bloody. Sophia stayed behind her husband as he approached Daniel Wynter cautiously, but when Daniel turned and looked at Eric his smile became even wider.
“Eric Knight, what an honor.” Shaking hands, Daniel chuckled amused at the lost expression he wore. “I guess you have a few questions for me?” Eric nodded as he glanced at him warily, “Only a few hundred.” Daniel smiled as Paulette appeared at his elbow, “Understood. Beautiful, would you mind putting a kettle on for me? It’s been a long day.”
