Grégoire stared at Dallie sharply. “Are you taking his side now?” Dallie resumed walking toward the dining room. When they were there, she took her usual seat at the long glass table. She rang the bell that was sitting near the corner of the table to tell the maid to get one more plate, glass, cup, and utensils for Grégoire. He chose to sit next to her, which she found inappropriate. “It doesn’t matter whose side I’m on. Besides, if you’re wrong, I shouldn’t condone it,” Dallie answered finally. “Now, will you move to the other side, please?” Grégoire gave her a look of disbelief. “My grandfather isn’t around.
