50. The Wilds trial

When the elders called the room to order, and the Elder was escorted inside, I almost couldn't believe it.  I think the silence that descended on the room was more because of shock, than because we have been ordered to.  The Elder looked almost feral, he as unkempt and dirty, something I had never seen coming from him.  It was almost scary to see the change.  He hissed at us, and when he looked at me, he tried to break free to attack me, but he was contained by the same enforcers that had once hunted me under his orders.   "We are here to put the Elder on trial and decide if he is fit to keep leading us," one of the elders said.   He looked old, and I guessed he was the next in command.   "Traitors!  Traitors all of you!" the Elder yelled.  "I did everything I did for the survival of ou
