**Ring Ring Ring**
The sound of a phone ringing made me snap my eyes open. His hands slowly retreated from me as he showed me a mocking, regretful face. I quickly pulled my skirt down to cover my legs as I watched Rowan press his phone to the side of his face.
"Yes, we’re just about done now. Sure, we can meet you two in the living room. Okay, see you soon," Rowan spoke into the phone as he kept his eyes on me.
I guess I just found out what it meant to be saved by the bell, or more like saved by a phone call. I didn’t even want to think about what would have happened if his father hadn’t called him right at that moment. I tried my best to gather myself by taking in deep breaths but it didn’t immediately calm the rapid beating of my heart.
