I trudged back through my kingdom as night fell. Marty was waiting in the entry for us.
"How did it go, child?" she asked nervously.
"S.h.i.t.t.y," I grumbled.
"You look good, so it couldn't have been too bad. Come inside. You are just in time for leftovers." She smiled, ushering us into the kitchen.
We told her about the Court of Seasons while she served us. Her expressions were just as colorful as my grandmother's. I watched her interactions with my mates.
