Few hours ago…
I woke up to a gentle knock at the bedroom door. And when I opened my eyes I found myself engulfed in a tight embrace from behind. I carefully pulled myself free and nudged his arm aside. It took me a few seconds to disentangle myself from the blanket considering that there were two forms sleeping on either side of me. A big man and a small baby, and I didn’t want to disturb either of them. I managed to slip out of the bed and looked at the clock which told me it was close to eight in the morning.
When I opened the door I saw Gabriel standing there with his hand in his pocket and another suspended in mid-air as he was about to knock again. “Good morning, Amelie.” He greeted me with a smile. I returned his greeting and he asked, “All well?”
I nodded. “Yeah.”
