The rogue wolf’s snarls echoed through the forest, sharp and menacing, but the Alpha did not flinch.
With a single, fluid motion, he leapt forward.
Before Aria could even gasp, his movements were over—faster than the eye could follow.
The rogue wolf’s growl was cut short as he landed harshly on the forest floor. A loud crack sounded, and then silence.
Aria stumbled back, her hands pressed against her mouth.
Selene’s voice whispered urgently inside her mind.
Did you see that?
The rogue wolf lay motionless. His eyes dimmed, the fire in them snuffed out.
The Alpha turned slowly toward her. His golden eyes gleamed in the moonlight, and every muscle in his massive body radiated raw power.
Aria felt her knees weaken.
“Wh-who are you?” she stammered, her voice shaking.
