The Alpha Hall was no longer filled with celebration.
Fear had replaced the laughter.
Whispers spread through the crowd like wildfire as wolves stared at the girl still lying on the cold stone floor.
Aria’s silver glow had faded, but the memory of it lingered in everyone’s minds.
No ordinary wolf released power like that.
Across the hall, several elders stood together near the torch-lit wall. Their aged faces were tight with concern.
Elder Rowan, the oldest among them, leaned on his staff as his sharp eyes studied Aria carefully.
“Did you feel it?” he murmured.
Beside him, Elder Mira nodded slowly.
“Yes.”
Her voice dropped to a whisper.
“That was not normal wolf energy.”
Another elder frowned.
“It felt… ancient.”
The word hung heavily in the air.
Rowan’s brows furrowed deeply.
“I have only felt something like that once before,” he said quietly.
Mira looked at him sharply.
“You mean the old legends?”
Rowan didn’t answer immediately.
His gaze remained fixed on Aria.
“Legends exist for a reason,” he finally said.
A few steps away, Kael stood beside the throne, his attention locked on the girl he had just rejected.
His wolf was restless.
Uneasy.
Something about the power Aria released disturbed him in ways he couldn’t explain.
Lyra noticed the way he was staring.
Her eyes narrowed slightly.
“You’re still looking at her,” she said quietly.
Kael didn’t respond.
Lyra followed his gaze to Aria lying on the floor.
For a brief moment, something dark flickered in her expression.
Jealousy.
Then she masked it quickly with a smile.
“She’s just a weak girl who couldn’t handle rejection,” Lyra said lightly. “She’ll recover.”
But Kael wasn’t so sure.
Because his wolf was growling.
Something about her has changed.
Suddenly, Aria stirred slightly on the floor.
A faint gasp escaped her lips as she slowly regained consciousness.
Pain still throbbed in her chest, but something else was there now too.
Power.
Selene’s voice echoed in her mind.
We cannot stay here.
Aria weakly pushed herself up on her elbows.
The moment she moved, the crowd stepped back instinctively.
No one wanted to get too close to her now.
Fear had replaced their earlier mockery.
Aria looked around the hall.
Every face staring at her held a different expression.
Curiosity.
Confusion.
Suspicion.
And in some… fear.
Her chest tightened painfully again.
She could still see Kael standing beside Lyra.
Still strong.
Still proud.
Still untouched by the pain he had caused her.
Selene spoke softly.
Leave.
Aria slowly forced herself to her feet.
Her legs shook, but she stayed standing.
No one stopped her.
No one offered help.
The entire hall watched in silence as she walked toward the exit.
Each step felt heavier than the last.
But she refused to look back.
Behind her, the elders continued whispering.
Elder Mira leaned closer to Rowan.
“If she truly carries that kind of power…” she said carefully.
Rowan finished the sentence grimly.
“Then many wolves will want to control her.”
Across the hall, hidden among the shadows near the far wall, a tall figure watched Aria leave.
His face remained partially hidden beneath a dark hood.
But his eyes gleamed with dangerous interest.
“So it’s true,” he murmured quietly.
“The silver energy has returned.”
One of his guards stepped closer.
“What are your orders?”
The hooded figure continued watching Aria as she disappeared through the massive doors of the Alpha Hall.
A slow smile spread across his lips.
“Follow her,” he said calmly.
“Do not lose sight of the girl.”
The guard nodded immediately.
“And if she discovers us?”
The hooded man’s eyes darkened.
“Then make sure she never reaches sunrise.”
Several shadows slipped quietly out of the hall.
Outside…
Aria walked slowly into the cold night air.
Unaware that she was no longer alone.
Unaware that dangerous eyes were already watching her every move.
