KALEB FOUR MONTHS LATER I stared at my daughter in my arms as Demi slept. Grace was born last night. She is the most precious pup I have ever seen. Shadow hummed in my head as he stared at his pup. “So perfect,” he murmured. He was in love with her, just like I was. I looked over at my sleeping mate and felt warm. I am on cloud nine right now. Nothing could ever change the way I feel right now. Demi did amazingly, giving birth to our daughter. She had been in labour for fourteen hours. I looked down at my sleeping beauty in my arms and leaned toward her, placing a tender kiss on her head. She smelt like Demi. I pulled back and smiled. I walked over to the side and placed her down in the crib. I moved back slightly and looked over to Demi, who was slowly stirring. I smiled
