For the last three days, I had been using my shadows, mostly with Brax, as Derik prepared the wolves in case the cemetery turned into a fight. Kai had been going between me and the wolves, ready to get things over with. Burning out enough to get sick hadn’t been the plan, but I was starting to think that was my body’s way of telling me off for going so hard on it.
