CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX There was no one in the house since we got in; not even Nana, not that I’d told her Saul was back. I dreaded her reaction. More than anyone, she hated Saul. She didn’t know I attempted to kill him before. Saul came in a minute after I did once he was done parking the car in the garage, humming under his breath. It sounded something like an old Adele song. I kicked the shoes off my legs, picked them up and headed straight upstairs. Getting rid of my clothes, I stared at my naked image in the full length dressing mirror. Depressed eyes glared back at me. There was no light in them. The door opened, Saul walking in but I didn’t bother to glance at him. He stopped behind me, his arms snaking around my waist while he peered at me through the dressing mirror, a cynical smile
