Sadie’s eyes are wide as I pull back from her. It wasn’t the best kiss ever, I have to admit. I knew after the way she’d reacted to what I said that she wasn’t really expecting it and I didn’t want to overdo it. But even so, it felt good to me. Her lips are as soft and sweet as I thought they'd be, and my whole body felt lighter as we were touching. I hope she feels the same.
“Micah, this is…” she trails off as she takes a small step back from me. “Really surprising. Two weeks ago you hated me.”
I wince. She’s right, of course, I can’t deny it. “Well, I was being stupid, like I already told you. I judged you before I got to know you. And now that I know you… I like you.”
