“I am receiving reports, Mr. President.” The General of defence paced back and forth. “It’s undeniably crazy, but one of my men sends me a video of our very own scientist losing their heads! They began attacking each other!” “Have you checked the validity of the video?” Alfred Dalton asked, he is the current president of the Philippines. He was nearing his 50s, yet that doesn’t make his appearance less and his features much older than his age. He looks young for somebody who had been recently elected as the 18th President of the country. “W—what? Of course, I did!” General William gulps. “Well, then that still doesn’t mean that I should order a martial law, General.” President Dalton wiped his lips from any remnants of the food he had eaten. “—But it’s already being chaotic and if we didn’t act now, this could have gotten worst—!” “You know that I can’t!” President Dalton throws him a glance, and he doesn’t look too happy. “I have just been recently elected, and if I do that, the people, my people would oust me in just a matter of seconds. Do you understand?” He paused. “And my victory party is still on the corner, General.” “The president is right.” His spokesperson agreed. “If such thing happens, the other party-list might spread rumours about him.” “Just…just don’t blame me with the aftermath, because I warned you.” General William turned his back, leaving the pair alone as they discussed about the party. “Are you alright?” Ryota was breathing hard. Same with him was Cyron who was running after his breath. They are covered with blood, and the ground seems like it had bathed from corpses after corpses. Dead bodies loitered. It lingered around as they lie there lifeless. Beheaded, while a few die with their head intact but with a bullet hole on their forehead. It was chaos. It was a total f**k up scenario. “Guys! G—guys!” The scared Ace runs to where they are. “The f**k are those things?!” “Flesh eaters,” it is Cyron who answered his question. “More like a zombie!” “Oh, they are the same.” Ryota let out a relieved sigh. “But did we kill everyone?” “No, I don’t think so.” Ace shook his head. “I saw some running from different directions earlier.” “Why didn’t you say something, tch.” Ryota rolled his eyes. “What do you expect me to do?! They are everywhere, and I was s**t scared because I might die!” Ace emphasized his words. “Right.” The latter only rolled his eyes. Right before they hear a chopper above them. The trio looked at each other. “s**t!” And s**t Sherlock, they are chase. “Surrender yourself before we shoot you!” The pilot threatened. “s**t, did they really think we kill all of this fuckers?” “We just did—” “Well, they are turning into zombies!” “Tell that to them, and they wouldn’t only place you in jail, but in an asylum.” Ryota scowled at Ace. “I’m just asking! But hey Cyron, it’s your idea! Do something!” “I am thinking—!” Something caught his legs. Cyron fell with a thud. “s**t!” He cursed. A black rope clamped itself on his foot. It’s getting tighter, and his friends panic. “We’re f**k up.” And from each corner of the forest, men wearing the insignia of the Philippine Army showed upholding their guns, and unfortunately, they were pointing at them. “Raise your hands, before we shoot you.” And they are deadly serious about killing Cyron and the pair. “Oh man…” “Oh god, I love this party, President!” One of the invited Congressmen cheered. President Dalton chuckled, “All for our success, Henry.” “We are not really wrong, when we choose you, Alfred.” “Certainly.” A few agreed. They are celebrating Alfred Dalton’s victory as a president at one of the exclusive hotels in QC around Manila, Seda Vertis North. Everyone who had been invited was large men in politics, Generals, Congressmen, and Senate officials as well as lawyers and DOJs. All of them were enjoying themselves and taking fancy to the luxury that the newly elected President had prepared for them. It was expensive. Everything around screams of fortune. “Fascinating.” Alfred Dalton raised a toast. “I’m really glad that each of you had spare your time to congratulate me, and I will always be grateful for your trust. Don’t worry, while I was in position, I’ll make sure that I will always be at your service.” Everyone applauded. “For our President!” Unbeknownst to them, that nightmare will soon replenish the road. “Hey, you’re not allowed to be here.” One of the guards scolded a young man, who seems to be trying to break into the hotel. “Geez, you locals were really stubborn.” He walked closer, but the latter did not even budge. “Just don’t press charges, when I arrest you, man.” But he stopped when he noticed something odd. The man’s eyes are red and his clothes are all covered with blood. What was more bizarre was the fact that he was gnawing the iron gates with his mouth. “O—oh god!” The guard was shocked. He quickly radioed the others. “I need some backup! There’s a strange man here!” He said, before pulling his g*n and slowly opening the gate. Only that the sudden creek caught its attention. The man glowered and lunged at the guard. “Arrg! You son of a b***h!” The g*n in his hand was triggered. The man was shot, but the attack continues. The guard screamed so loud that the man’s companion followed the sound. And every flesh-eaters feast on him as they loitered, blood spilt on the ground and the turning of events had become much worst. Scream resonated. Footsteps rang. And that’s how the majority of the guards found him. “s**t!” They began pulling their guns to shoot but their attacks are futile. Everyone was afraid. One of the PSG alerted the President. “Make a quick escape on the rooftop, Sir! We have an immediate threat here!” He said rather in a rush. President Alfred Dalton could hear screams, but thinking that his bodyguards could baffle it, he brushed it off with a laugh so that the men wouldn’t notice that something was going on the ground floor. “Just take it easy, fella.” He chuckled. “Make sure that those trash did not make their way up here.” “But Sir—!” But President Dalton hangs up the call. “Is there a problem?” The Congressman asked. “Not really, just some outsiders trying to gatecrash, but there’s nothing to worry about, Congressman.” He assured the male. “Oh, those flies really suck.” The latter’s face contorted with disgust. “I know, but never mind, let’s just enjoy the party! Cheers!” “Cheers!” “Arrg.” Cyron groans, when he stirred from being unconscious. His head is pounding, and he felt his arms both restrained, bound by something that he was sure would leave marks on his skin. It was tight as if meant to really made him motionless as he lie there. His forehead felt like it was being hammered, it hurts so bad. “You’re awake.” Ryota was leaning on the walls when their eyes meet. “Yeah….” Cyron trailed off. “Where’s Ace?” “Still past asleep.” Ryota pointed to their friend’s sleeping figure. But they are not yet finished making sure that everybody was alright, when the cell doors jolted and was pushed open. A man on his 40’s showed to. It was General Williams, who have a grim face facing the trio. Behind him on his trail was 5 more commanding officer who was eyeing them with contempt. “I guess, you may have known why we are here, right?” He said. And they are fully armed. Heavily guarded by guns and armor as if Cyron and the pair were rebels that could have hurt them in any second. “Those guns are not meant to be for us, General.” Cyron began. “We are not your enemy.” “After killing our scientists?” General William bared his teeth at him. “I don’t think so, kid.” “You saw them!” Cyron gritted his teeth. “You are not blind, you knew what they have become—!” “They became monsters.” Ryota scowled at the Generals. “Tch. Just be thankful that we eliminate half of them, so it would be your job to clean the streets, not us anymore.” “Don’t talk to our General like that! And stop fooling us, you murderers! Ha! As if we are stupid enough to believe you!” One of the commanding officer scowled at Ryota, his eyes are furious, his fingers hovering over the trigger as if he was ready to shoot him. “You needed to believe us, before it’s too late.” General Williams eyed Cyron. “How can we—” Only to get stop by their radio buzzing, ringing with screams as some reach their frequency. The terrified shouts and groans had totally left them struck. One, when it was President Dalton’s pleading voice that came on General Williams radio. “P—please, I’m sorry! H—help us! W—William! “It is the President!” “Sir!” William was alerted by the fear he had never heard before from him. “What’s happening? Are you alright? Aren’t you at the party?” “W—was! Oh god!” Alfred was heard crying on the other line as the 5 officers listen there rather anxious. “W—we’re here, when those things started showing up and attacking everyone! P—please, send some back up here and help us—Arghh! WILLIAM!” And then the line went dead. Not totally after they hear his bloodcurdling scream followed by a gnawing sound of teeth altogether. “W—what the f**k is that?” “This s**t is what I am warning him with.” General William cursed. “Gather your troops and alert all units, we have a code red, gentlemen.” “W—what?!” “I said it’s code red!” General William glared at him. “Don’t make me repeat myself!” “Y—yes, Sir!” In fear, the men run to assemble their troops. This left General Williams with the trio. “Now, you believe me?” Cyron firmly stated. “I am not lying, and I did not kill those people because they are still human. I kill them, because they will be the cause of humanity’s downfall and that f*****g meteorite you chose to ignore brought this calamity!” Cyron is mad. He couldn’t fathom the anger that touch and swelled his chest with fury at that exact moment. But when their eyes meet, General William’s orbs still held doubt. He is still hesitant, but there’s this spark that seems to trust Cyron. “How sure I am that you are not lying?” He asked. “The screams already suggested what was happening, General.” Cyron looked at him straight in the eye. “And I assure you, it would be a total disaster.” “How did you know?” General William frowns. “How did you know what was going to happen?” “I—I was—” But the sudden blare of alarm intercede. “f**k, can we quit asking some questions now, and move us out here, Sir?” Ryota was impatient. “S—sorry!” General William was quick on his feet. He place his palms towards the metal detector placed outside and the cell door automatically opened for them. This also includes the wired ropes that left Cyron and the others motionless. A groan slipped past from Ace’s lips. “Argg… my head.” “Worry about that later on.” Ryota pulled him on his feet. “W—what did you say?” Groggy, he rub his temples. But Ryota did not pay any heed to him anymore. “Follow me.” General William’s urged the three. “Where are we heading?” It’s Cyron’s turn to ask. “To the weaponry, before I took you to the lab.” General William’s pace quicken. The hallway of the headquarter has been filled with men rushing. They were armed, and their faces are grim. The air is heavy. With heavy breathing, they seems prepared to launch an attack, when Cyron stop on his tracks. “By the way—” He paused for a moment, before glancing on those soldiers. “—you needed to cut off their head or they wouldn’t die.” A few looked at each other. “Don’t lectured us as if you’ve been through we have experienced before!” One soldiers barked at him. General William heard what the soldier said. “You’re going to listen to him, you piece of s**t!” He marched to where the man was and hold him on his collar. “Or die there get eaten by those monstrous being!” “S—sir!” “Listen to me or I’m going to kick your a*s and feed you to those things—!” “But the President did not release any order yet, Sir.” One butt in. “He won’t be able to.” General William bitterly uttered. “Why?” “—because the President is dead.” GASP. “Y—you can’t be serious!” Everybody was stunned. They were shocked. Unmoved, even when the lights turn red as it signal that they had been infiltrated by those beings. “f**k!” General William cursed. “Barricade all exit!” “S—Sir?” “Just do what I say, because right now—” His jaw clenched. At that moment, General William look as if he was facing something that was beyond his strength. “—we are facing some devils, and death’s been knocking on our doors to get us killed.” And they knew what he meant by that.
