CHAPTER 30: VENGEFUL
“So, this is what they are doing while I was mourning for my uncle’s death?” Samantha hisses.
She was clenching her teeth, when he manager sends her a copy of a published newspaper that includes Italia and Zamiel’s photograph although blurred. But that isn’t what makes her blood boiled to anger. It was an image that was spreading on the Internet that shows Gustav and Italia on a fancy diner.
“Damn it!” She throws it away.
Jake blew out a loud breathe, “If you are going to mourn her all to yourself, you wouldn’t accomplish anything, Sam.” He looked at her, there is this sudden flash of annoyance on his orbs. “While that bastard was enjoying himself out there. Is that what you really wanted, huh?”
“Shut up!” Samantha clenched her teeth.
She’s no fool. She knew that he has point, but what can she do now? The media was laughing at her [maybe]. Now that they are seeing Italia being dated by Gustav himself.
They may have been mocking behind, and making fun of the supposed fiancée.
“Damn it!” The mere thought made Samantha quivered with so much anger she never felt before.
She was so full of it. She was at the brink of losing herself and wishing for Italia to just died down. The hell she cars about her! She took everything away from Samantha. First, it was her uncle Fredo, and now, it was Gustav.
“What?” Jake eyed her curiously. “Are you just going to stay here and ruined everything? That’s pathetic, Sam—”
“I’ll f*****g make you shut up, if you won’t zip your f*****g mouth!” She hollered to him.
Jake did not speak, but he doesn’t seems scared with her threat.
“I know you are annoyed by the words I say, but I am not your enemy here, Sam.”
“I am well aware of that.” Samantha gritted her teeth.
“Now that it is clear.” Jake crossed his legs. “Mind if I ask what do you wanted to do with her?”
“What do I wanted to do with her?” Samantha chuckled darkly. “I wanted that b***h killed, Jake! I wanted her to suffer! And I don’t f*****g care anymore if Gustav wouldn’t like it. I just... I just felt like getting my hands on her would gave me peace, and that is what I am searching for now...”
“Then that is what I am going to do.” Jake stood up.
Samantha turned her head to him.
“What are you plotting?” Samantha raised her eyebrows.
“Just like what you said, you wanted that bitch.” Jake shrugged his shoulder. “—killed.”
“Do you like that food?” Gustav asked her.
Italia nodded her head. She smiled at him, while she is still in awe at the place. A few was dining together with them, but there are still vacant seat left. The ambiance is serene, and the restaurant have this theme of an Italian cuisine she long forgotten, but she was a big fan of Italy.
She was hoping to land a job there after she graduated from college, but some things happen. But that was least of her worries for now.
“It was really delicious.” Italia voice out her thoughts.
“I knew you’ll like it that’s why I choose it” Gustav took his napkin, and dry the side of his lips.
“That made me curious how did you find this place.” Italia smiled at him
“I’ve asked some friends—”
But he wasn’t yet finish, when a shrill voice caught both of their attention.
“Now, I do understand why you ask where to go, Mr. Salvador.” A woman on his late 20’s showed up with glamour.
Behind her, two women stood on her side and roamed their eyes to Italia from head to toe. By the looks of it, they means trouble.
“Mrs. Rodriguez—” Gustav’s smile disappeared.
It was replaced by a serious look on his face.
“Oh god!” The woman chuckled and laugh in a soft manner. “You know that it makes me older, when you call me Mrs, when in fact I am no longer married, my boy.” She winked at him. “Monica would suits better.”
For unknown reason, Italia felt her irritation rising up to her head upon hearing Monica called Gustav, my boy.
Is she for real? She thought, annoyed. Being all too good for Gustav as if she did not exist there.
Same with the male, she lost her appetite and her smile. Italia cleared her throat to announce that Gustav isn’t alone.
“Oh my.” Monica seems like she have gotten the hint, although she looked at her indifferently. “My bad, how can I not know that you are being accompanied by a beautiful woman, Gustav.”
“Her name is Italia.” Gustav introduced her to Monica.. “And Italia, this is Monica—”
“—a friend.” Monica leaned down, and fretted Italia just like what women in alta-society do it. Only that, she has another purpose, and whisper. “—but I can say that it is more than the friendship you think, young lady.”
This lady! Italia’s blood was boiling with anger.
It was ironic how she can still sit there and calmly pretended as if everything was okay, when it is not already.
The moment Monica pulled away, her smile broaden as if she was satisfied to see the flashed of ferocity on Italia’s eyes.
“And you are also stunning tonight, Monica.” Gustav complemented the latter.
Italia turned her head, and looked at him incredulously. She was frowning. Doesn’t realize that the woman was obviously ruining their supposed night, and was flirting to him right in front of her?
Her fist balled.
“And you too, my boy.” Monica waved her hand. “But I guess, I must leave you two. I hope you enjoy this night.”
With that said, she gave Gustav one lingering look just like what lovers mostly does, before she disappeared from their sight.
But Italia’s mood was already ruined.
“What was that?” Sarcasm flooded her voice. “Really?”
“What’s your problem?” Gustav frowns.
She rolled her eyes, “She’s flirting on you.”
“I know.”
“Then why the hell didn’t you do something?” Her annoyance was shown on her face.
“It was just normal to greet her, she’s my client, and I am not that rude—”
“So, are you trying to say that I am rude?” She cut him off. “Then, f*****g say it.”
“Italia.” Gustav warned her. “Don’t cause a scene here.”
“And now I am the one who is causing the scene now?” She laugh, but there’s no humour in it. “So, if I am ruining your night, then I guess I must take my leave, Sir.”
“Stop acting like a child!” Gustav seems like he was running out of his patience.
Italia stood up. The stubborn her and her pride was urging her to never listen.
“A child? So, I am a child all along for you.” She clicked her tongue. “That’s great, so enjoy your food alone, since a child like me couldn’t seems to match your taste, Mr. Salvador.” She placed an emphasis to every words she uttered.
Without looking back, Italia matched, she stormed out as Gustav sit there rather frustrated.
Oh god, how he is going to fix it now?
“What you did earlier was totally amusing, Madame!” Miriam praised Monica, who at that moment was enjoying the scene being unfold from Gustav and Italia’s table.
The smile on her lips widened seeing that his company is angry from what she say.
“Of course.” She chuckled. “How can that mere s**t took away one of my boys?” She added with a giggle.
“But is it really true, Madame?” Gladys peered through, and looked at her with intriguing eyes. “Did something happened between you and Mr. Salvador?”
Her grins broaden, “Do you really think I am bluffing?”
“Certainly no.” She shook her head. “We are just surprise, since no rumours even link your name to him.”
“Well, some things are better off left in secrecy, girls.” She uttered with meaning, drinking the wine on her glass and emptying it with one gulp.
Gustav Salvador was like this wine, sometimes his taste of women is not something that most would expected. He was rich, but it isn’t money that blinded Monica to still chase after him.
It was him, being Gustavio Enriquez Salvador that no man can be compared.
